Birds of Avalon opened for Black Mountain on Friday night. This first song totally reminds me of Hagar-era Van Halen. Am I the only one? They were probably the most eclectic band I've seen lately that still managed to make its set cohesive; besides the meedlee-meedlee-mee fretwork, they incorporated bits of a rainbow of other genres.
