Cut Copy get slower and looser on their third album. Yes, we're talking about the same Cut Copy. Australian neo-synthpoppers Cut Copy were always going to face an uphill battle with the follow-up to their rightfully adored, near-perfect sophomore album In Ghost Colours, an album that sat atop the list of PopMatters' Top Electronic Albums of 2008 and was one of the top 10 overall albums for PopMatters and various other publications that year. True blue home grown indie-dance 3 piece Cut Copy   drops their new album Zonoscope this week. It's awesome. I predict after this album critics will stop calling them a "3 piece indie dance band" and instead call them something that sounds more serious but actually is more stupid like a "psychadelic dance trio."

Cut Copy have returned. And not only are they back but the band are returning armed with their third and most ambitious work yet, "Zonoscope" which will be released February 8, 2011, in North America. Cut Copy , as of yesterday, announced their long anticipated third album, Zonoscope. The album will be released February on Modular Recordings and by the look of it we can expect a much more organic and experimental offering from the once shimmering and crisp electronic pop we have come to love. Needless to say, I am thoroughly excited to see what develops.
