Skrillex continues his collaboration spree with another collabo fan , Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley. The reggae influence goes a long way to making this jam listenable. The inclusion of a badass eagle in the video helps too. But nothing tops those two kids faces at 2:35. Oh, and down with the man!

Before we posted Make it Bun Dem by Skrillex and Damian Marley back in April , we had no idea how well dubstep and reggae genres would mash up together, but as it turned out, they compliment each other beautifully. Skrillex reunites with director Tony T. Datis , who is also responsible for the First of the Year , and Banarang music videos, to create the video for Make it Bun Dem . The video, in true Skrillex form, is [...]

I was absolutely blown away by this collaboration when it dropped back in May. And throughout the summer and until now, it doesn't seem to have lost its steam. OWSLA dropped the "After Hours" remix EP last month and now we've got a music video. The video is a lot like other Skrillex videos. You don't really know what's going on, there's a couple sketchy-looking weirdos, and then something crazy and phenomenal happens. See for yourself and then check out the remixes. All good!
Skrillex and Damian Marley team up Beatport to roll out their latest video and present a new remix contest to add on top of it as well. Do you think you have what it takes to remix 'Make It Bun Dem'? If so, hit the download below for all of the components. Submissions will run until September 18th, so there isn't much time to fool around. Get to work and let us hear your masterpiece! Skrillex teamed up with Damian Marley earlier this year to make a ground breaking collaboration "Make It Bun Dem". Besides blending reggae and dubstep in ways nobody though was possible, it also seriously put Damian Marley back on the map. We featured the After Hours remix package of the track featuring some very eerie and chaotic tracks from producer like Alvin Risk and Brodinski. Now the track got a full production music video with an interesting twist as usual (see above). It shows a family getting evicted, then a native american [...]

Official video release for Skrillex and Damian Marley's collaboration track unofficially known as "Rudeboy Bass" but officially titled "Make It Bun Dem"
Skrillex and Jr. Gong recently collectively dropped the Make It Bun Dem EP After Hours ep. Now they drop a video for the title track. It's refreshing to see Skrillex taking a step back towards the skank'n dub step style this crazy music originated from.

Skrillex partnered with Damian "Junior Gong" Marley for the huge single "Make It Bun Dem" earlier this year, and tapped Tony T. Datis for another staggering visual replete with a moral twist. The song has been a staple of the three-time Grammy winner Skrillex's sets for the last few months. After collaborating on the groundbreaking "Distant Relatives" with Nas, three-time Grammy winner Damian Marley once again masterfully jumps the musical gamut with Skrillex on the track recorded earlier this year. Animated with a syncopated guitar line, thunderous bass production, raucous toasting and masterful synths, [...]
Via: Prefix

I actually really like this and to be honest, while I respect the Skrillex movement and he puts on a helluva live show, that's with me not being a huge fan of his recorded music or even Damian Marley 's acclaimed album with Nas . Makes sense that this works though. At the end of the day, dubstep's roots (no pun intended) are in dub reggae and so much reggae music is essentially electronic music anyway that the synergies and the room to successfully collaborate between the two worlds are obvious.
