HUGE Hefner dice: En [...]
f UNKLE is James Lavelle and Tims Goldsworthy, two British DJs/producers who are well known for their rock-electronic collaborations with the likes of Thom Yorke, Richard Ashcroft, and Badly Drawn Boy. Their third album, War Stories (Surrender All), was released this past summer, and from it spawned a memorizing video for their first single, "Burn My Shadow" . For this track, The Cult's Ian Astbury lends his haunting vocals to perfectly accent UNKLE's intense, guitar-driven beats. The video keeps the true essence of the song [...]
The newest UNKLE record, "War Stories", fuckin' rules. If you haven't bought it yet, do so now. And if you haven't seen em live yet, make sure you do when they cruise through your area. I was lucky enough to...
Italië was cool. In mijn onderbroek rondlopen natuurlijk!!! U.N.K.L.E. - Burn My Shadow [...]
It takes more than great production to create compelling music: there's a spark missing from Lavelle's songwriting
New Music focuses in on an album recently added to the WOXY.com playlist, today we zero in on the new one from UNKLE, titled, War Stories. This is the third full length album from the duo comprised of James Lavelle and Richard File Collaborations on the album include Josh Homme from Queens Of The Stone Age, Ian [...]
[Contributor Casey Dolan suffered an anxiety attack watching this video:] The first video from Unkle's new album, "War Stories" (due July 24) is bound to get viewers feeling a bit constricted around the chest. Ian Astbury , on hiatus from resurrecting the ghost of Jim Morrison , sings the song "Burn My Shadow" as actor Goran Visjnic (" ER " and " Welcome to Sarajevo ") wakes up in his boozy post-disaster flat to discover that he has a bit of a problem and not much time to solve it. Director [...]
Cool song and intense video from Unkle. This guy needs to chill out. So what you have a timer attached to your chest, I'm sure everything will be fine.
I know absolutely nothing about who UNKLE are, but this video is one of those that will stick in your mind for a long while after. The actors Goran Visnjic, who will be familiar to any ER fans. I'm just really really late on them..Great song though.
UNKLE 's War Stories , the group's third album, drops next month and like its predecessors it will feature a rich line-up of collaborators; many including Queens of the Stone Age 's Josh Homme and Massive Attack 's 3D have already appeared on previous albums . In typical UNKLE fashion however, fresh unexpected faces are added to the mix including The Cult frontman Ian Astbury who sings for the album's lead single "Burn My Shadow" as well as "When Things Explode." Stereogum posted the remarkable video [...]

Guess who's back (dubbele comeback zelfs)
Guess who's back (dubbele comeback zelfs)
With a vengeance. Video has crept its way online for their new single Burn My Shadow - featuring Ian Astbury of The Cult with some bone-chilling lyrics. The video is simply amazing, and lends itself to today's ultra-modern fears... it's dark, it's brooding... and it's what I've been waiting for from them since the days of the DJ Shadow partnership that launched the (simply amazing album) Psyence [...]
Guess which iconic Seattle rocker is depicted in this promotion mock-up Yesterday's post , like on all Thursdays, focused specifically on the Northwest (Sasquatch, duh!), and in that very short time a whole bunch of non-NW related stories fell through the cracks here at the KEXP Blog. So, today, while all of your officemates have fled to hills, beaches, and in-laws' houses, you can kick up your feet, watch a few videos and reconnect with the world. Don't worry - [...]
Release Date: 07.24.07 James Lavelle is both the Timbaland and The Archbishop Don "Magic" Juan of the electronic-rock-chronic universe. The liner notes on War Stories , the third album from UNKLE, reads like a festival guest list, citing eclectic raconteurs from all bends of the storybook spectrum, who join talents and tall tales to create the best home makeover record of 2007. "Chemistry" picks up the pulverizing jab of power Lavelle punched all over the Sexy Beast soundtrack, one of many albums produced by big pimpin, who decides to [...]
The third long player from UNKLE is on its way. The latest from James Lavelle, War Stories , will hit shops in the US on July 24 on his own Surrender All label, and it is chock full of guests. Similar to the first UNKLE album, Psyence Fiction , this has quite a stellar lineup, featuring vocals from Josh Homme (Queens Of The Stone Age), Ian Astbury (The Cult), 3D (Massive Attack), The Duke Spirit, Autolux and Gavin Clark (Clay Hill). Richard File is returning for a second time, and even Lavelle himself contributes vocals for the first [...]
For a second you'll think that pulling hunky Croatian thespian Goran Visnjic is just another stab at the hit-or-miss celeb stunt casting that's running rampant -- until he opens his shirt (hey ladies !) to find a digital surprise. More like a short film than video, and the song becomes secondary soundtrack to the Croat's paranoia. Somebody get this guy a television show, STAT. (And thanks for the heads up, teco apple .)
