The video's that Björk has been releasing for Volta have been hit-or-miss. Unlike the videos from Homogenic and Post , which were fun, sexy, and innovative. The Volta videos have been somewhat boring and lacking that creative spirit that she is known for (Michel! WTF?). That is until the Wanderlust video, which knocked me off my feet. A while back Björk put out the call on Bjork.com for 3 budding young directors to get together for her "The Dull Flame Of Desire" vid. Bjork then culled down the hundreds of entrants to three peeps; Masahiro Mogari (Japan), Marçal Cuberta Junca (Spain) & Christoph Jantos (Germany). The three directors were then sent Bjork/Antony green screen performance footage and were told to go wild. Just released today, here is the official video for 'Dull Flame of Desire' from Bjork 's Volta album. From the first full listen of the album this was easily my fave song due to the intensity and heartbreaking sounds falling from both Bjork's and Antony Hargarty 's mouths. The video is directed by three runners up from the Innocence video competition from awhile back.

If you recall, there was a fan-made video contest for Björk's " Innocence ." Well, turns out there was more than one winner: The contest's three runners up were called back to help with the video for "The Dull Flame of Desire." Each got to handle 1/3 of the clip. The clip for the Bjork/Antony Hegarty duet "The Dull Flame Of Desire" was helmed by three different directors, each of whom placed as runners-up in one of those "help me make my video" contests that have been all the rage in the YouTube era.
