Waves gently tickle my feet as I walk along the smooth wet sand. There are no footprints for miles. I am alone. The setting sun causes my eyes to squint while I try to make out the colors of the buoys in the distance. The low sea abandons much to be discovered along the shoreline. The Low Sea are a little known Galway-based band made up of Billie and Bobby D who have been seducing people with their hazy, spaced-out electronic-infused shoegaze dream-pop. Fans of Hope Sandoval and Mazzy Star will love them. Having recently signed to Lefse Records (home to Neon Indian, Phaseone) , I'm surprised I haven't seen much about them yet. C'est par une nuit d'été 2008, dans le sud de la France, que le pavillon irlandais battant au nom de « Low Sea » se jette à l'eau et sillonnera désormais les mers de ce globe. Formé de Billie à la voix / guitare et de Bobby à la basse, le duo revendique leurs influences pour Jesus & Mary Chain, le Velvet Underground, My Bloody Valentine (entre autres..) mais de cette obscurité jaillit la lumière et ce n'est point pour me déplaire.
