I really enjoyed the new QotSA album Era Vulgaris , as it was an improvement over their previous effort Lullabies to Paralyze . "Sick Sick Sick" is a straight-forward rock and roll jam that evokes early punk rock with the driving guitars and simplistic vocals. I like that Julian Casablancas is on the song and his backup vocals mix nicely with Homme's. Not much else to say - just a good song. And as I've said in the past - any band with Josh Homme makes me want to party in [...]
Being that it is Halloween, we thought it might be fun to cruise through the mighty world of YouTube to go trick or treating for some of our favorite creepy music videos. We'd forgotten how absolutely fucked up Aphex Twin's "Come To Daddy" video was. Chances are we'll continue adding to this throughout the day, so keep checking back. Now go grab yourself some candy corn, sit back and enjoy! Aphex Twin - "Come To Daddy" [...]
In today's new review, Brad tackles the recently released Queens of the Stone Age album, Era Vulgaris. Queens of the Stone Age - Era Vulgaris The new album is, in Brad's opinion, one of the finest of the year so far; "Era Vulgaris is a triumphant success from a band that refuses to grow stale and constantly [...]
Fifth full-length from the desert hard-rockers is slick, hard-hitting and sly... score one for big-time rock and roll.
Queens Of The Stone Age are back, it seems. Caught me out my surprise, which after remembering that they're playing Wireless in Leeds next month, is a bit strange. The new record's called Era Vulgaris, fresh with artwork that reminds me of those slogan posters from the 1950s, except they ...
Queens of the Stone Age "Sick Sick Sick"
Rapper/Producer Akon is in deep doo-doo after an incident at one of his shows at Dutchess Stadium in New York. Apparently a fan threw a piece of paper at Akon during one of his between song "blabberings" that no one cares to hear. Akon singled out the culprit, got him up on stage, and completely manhandled him. The best part is it's all caught on tape....
I first stumbled across the five piece noise rock outfit from Los Angeles known as Suicide Club when they opened up for The Blood Brothers at the El Rey Theatre in April. I caught the end of their set, but it was more than enough to catch my interest. A few weeks later I got their debut album , Soft Machines EP, (Morphine Generation Recordings) in the mail and I was immediately hooked on their sound. Suicide Club is one of many bands that are part [...]

Bulby the light bulb will not be happy about Queens of the Stone Age dropping the alternative version to their music video for "Sick, Sick, Sick". Why? Because they replaced that scum-bag attention whore for some hot babe! Enjoy the new video kids...
A new genre has officially been coined. It's called "Dream Rock", and you won't quite understand it until you listen to this week's Badical Find, a band called Thrushes from Baltimore. You can hear hints of Dream Rock (also known as Dream-Core) in a few other Baltimore-based bands like Beach House and Arbouretum . Drenched in reverb, these guys push the "talent knob" to the limit with their swirling guitar riffs, goddess-like melodies, and crashing drums. Thrushes are [...]
This weekend is do or die day for Marilyn Manson and judging by the videos and tracks he's laid out, I'm doubting the "Antichrist" is ready to die yet. Sure he's not scary now that we realized he wasn't going to take over the world, but he can still put out some pretty wicked electro-rock. How do I know the tracks are wicked, funky fly? Simple! Marilyn Manson is streaming Eat Me, Drink Me on his Myspace page as we speak. [...]
While most of you were out bbq'ing and shopping at the mall over the Memorial Day weekend, I decided to hit the gym. While that may sound like a pretty crappy day, I was actually spending my early evening at the Tao Nightclub in Las Vegas getting to watch a full set by the Gym Class Heroes . This private event was definitely a way to kick off that weekend and I was even able to film a couple songs as I watched from the side of the stage. Jump down a bit further, and there are [...]
...Queens of the Stone Age performing Sick Sick Sick.
Normally I hate Maroon 5 knock off's or anything that sounds remotely close to those ass clowns, but when they can put together a video as kick ass as Sweep the Leg , they deserve a little attention. This 80's tribute to the best movie ever features the cast of Karate Kid all grown up and fat living in a trailer, Mr. Belding as a sensei, and a drummer who got his bass drum head from Meg of the White Stripes. Anyways, enjoy this modern 80's flashback brought to you by No More Kings !
Who doesn't love pasty musicians, sassy female vocalists and high energy rock that mixes The Grease Soundtrack with Blondie (if she had a strong lower register)? I know I do, and I love it even more when bands like The Long Blondes stream their ENTIRE upcoming album for us all to shimmy to. Someone To Drive You Home offers tracks so diverse that trying to categorize them would prove impossible. On one hand you have songs filled with [...]
