Due to the busy Christmas season, List Addicts Fridays has been bumped for today...and if you're big fans of Fresh from the Post Tuesdays , unfortunately it'll be on hiatus until next month. But not to worry, there's Christmas cheer all 'round since we've still got our daily Christmas song offerings, the video of the week, and of course, the better late than never Friday lists. If you're a regular reader of the Friday lists, you'll probably know that I'm a big fan of stories set to music. Narratives are much better blended with [...]

Something that sucks: arriving home from tramping around New Zealand and having to finish your final exam for your grad school class in record time. Something that doesn't suck: attending a lovely concert put on by The Swell Season tonight at The Pageant . Life is balanced once again. I'm looking forward to enjoying the sweet sounds which will be emanating from the lips of Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova tonight. Of course this go around will also feature a full band, made [...]
Congrats to Glen & Marketa for the Oscar win. Here's a clip from Once set to the winning track... See more MJTV video Listen to Musical Justice
I couldn't be more please with the last night's Oscars. All deserving performances took home a gold statue, including Once crooners Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, who won Best Original Song for their moving ballad, "Falling Slowly." Here's the eerily beautiful tune, along with clips from the film. Check out their Oscar performance and acceptance speech .
"Falling Slowly" from Once This is surely one reason to stay home and watch the show. Variety has the rundown on all of this year's Oscar musical performances below. Performers of the nominated songs will include Amy Adams ("Happy Working Song"), Kristin Chenoweth and Marlon Saunders ("That's How You Know") and Jon McLaughlin ("So Close"). These three songs are all from "Enchanted," with [...]
Once Trailer I normally don't talk about DVDs, but this was such an amazing movie. Some of the reviews the movie got: "Once" is far from a conventional love story. It is, instead, the story of a creative partnership that develops by chance and that involves a deeper, riskier bond than mere sex ever could."- New York Times "...an enchanting, unpretentious blend of music and romance you can
I spent the afternoon watching Once , an independent film out of Dublin featuring Glen Hansard of The Frames and Czech singer Markéta Irglová. The film is a brief little love letter, and more than half of it is just people singing songs bent around sweet, simple, urgent emotion. I sang Falling Slowly all the way home; it just stuck with me. You can hear the whole soundtrack and see the trailer at Once , and hear more by both of them on their collaboration The Swell Season . [...]
