A sweet new video from Hanne.

I must be in a Norwegian pop kind of mood. Though this is definitely a different flavor than Eva and The Heartmaker. Actually, I immediately thought of Tegan & Sara when I first heard this. Hanne Hukkelberg apparently started her musical career in metal bands, which could explain her penchant for using unusual noises/instrumentation in what might otherwise have been pretty straightforward pop songs. 'Blood From A Stone' is an hypnotic, swirling carnival ride, reminiscent of the more palatable side of Bjork. I'm sold! The video isn't too engaging, but the song makes up for it. [...]

My love for the Northern European region is certainly well documented , so when I discover some lovely new music from three different Scandinavian countries in one week, its a big deal for me. A commenter on her YouTube recently said Hanne Hukkelberg looks like Hayden Panettiere (bit of a stretch but maybe in this video, yes) but sounds like Karen O. The description, and my resulting LOLZ, struck me as one of the more hilarious blends of comic book, TV geek and indie boy wet dreams.
