Playing in a small club Friday night, Radiohead's Thom Yorke debuted his new band in a "low key" but very public dress rehearsal. Backed by some of music's greatest, Yorke played his entire 2006 solo album, The Eraser, along with some alternative takes on Radiohead songs and premiered four new songs, which he performed completely unaccompanied. Thom Yorke’s new band – Echoplex (10/2/09)

Thom Yorke announced on Thursday that his new band with Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers, long time Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich , Joey Waronker (Beck, REM), and percussionist Mauro Refosco would be playing a show at the Echoplex on Friday night. I got lucky and I was able to go. The band played songs from Yorke's solo album The Eraser and new Yorke solo material. Thom Yorke Makes Debut Live Appearance With New Band

Radiohead's very own Thom Yorke announced his new solo backing band earlier last week which included Red Hot Chili Pepper's Flea, longtime Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, drummer Joey Waronker and Mauro Refosco. They announced collaborative live dates for October 4th and 5th, but what we didn't know was that a secret 'public rehearsal' was also on the cards which took place in the rather tiny Los Angeles Echoplex club last Friday, October 2nd.
