It's always fun to cycle through Green Days ' 90s catalog, but it's even better when you get to do so with Florence + The Machine and Prince aficionado Dev Hynes ( Blood Orange, Lightspeed Champion ). Watch them cover Green Day 's 1997 Nimrod gem "Hitchin' A Ride" at this year's Coachella festival for Noisy. At this year's Coachella, as part of the Noisey's  live video series, Florence and the Machine and Dev Hynes (of Lightspeed Champion, Blood Orange) took a stab at Green Day's "Hitchin' a Ride" . Originally off 19972s Nimrod , this cover of the Bay Area trio's punky lounge anthem strips the punk and stresses the lounge. It's pretty cool seeing Florence Welch scream and, well, Hynes plays bass well. Catch it below. What!?!?! I don't like Green Day anymore, but when I was a fan, I thought "Hitchin' A Ride" was hands down their best song. The album Nimrod was the beginning of the end of any support for the band, but this song was my shit. So when I saw that Florence Welch , of Machine fame, Dev Hynes , a.k.a. Blood Orange, did a rendition of the 902s jam, I was stoked to hear it. Enjoy the duo killing a classic.
