It may be difficult wrapping one's brain around the idea of Passion Pit -those blog-beloved purveyors of brightly hued, indie-flavored synth-pop morsels fronted by singer Michael Angelakos' polarizing high-pitched chirps-ending up with one of 20122s finest R&B performances, but that's precisely what the guys have accomplished with Gossamer highlight "Constant Conversations", a song that on the surface, gleams, stomps and grooves like some new-gen R. The video for "Constant Conversations", a tune off of Passion Pit 's latest  Gossamer LP, is pretty heavy. I'm struggling to piece together what's actually happening, but from what I gather it's not a comfortable situation. Hot off Gossamer 's #4 debut on the Billboard Charts last week, Passion Pit has released a sensual clip for their sophomore album's R&B flavored single, "Constant Conversations." The video throws a somber Michael Angelakos' into the middle of a high-society day party. Though everyone at this Gatsby-like affair is dressed in their Sunday best, Angelakos seems distracted in his own world. As word continues to spread about the unstable metal condition of Michael Angelakos, we can now see some of that frustration in a visual form in the video for “Constant Conversations”. With a slew of upper class, spoiled brats, the Passion Pit frontman wades around like a dead body, giving no attention to anyone. While we’re not quite sure what this affair is about (maybe someone just died?), it does seem to have an overarching somber feel to it. When I first listened to Passion Pit's smooth slow jam " Constant Conversations ", I couldn't help but think that it was quite the indie electro baby-making tune. And with the new visuals just released, I can see that I wasn't too far off with my initial impression. The video, which is full of heavy petting, sex, snakes and the always erotic tea party all shot in slow motion, is just full of sexual undertones (and overtones for that matter) and makes for one steamy scene to compliment the song perfectly.
