When I think of New York hip hop,I think of peerless wordplay and colourful and vivid story-telling. I think of razor-sharp deliveries and battle cries. Party anthems and tales of street woe. Very few could deliver all of the above and it's safe to say no one did with such bravado, grace and sheer ease as Guru aka the mouthpiece of iconic rap duo Gangstarr. Together with his partner, DJ Premier (an all-timer in his own right), Gangstarr were the  conscience of hip-hop. Let's celebrate the musical life of the legendary Guru in video. After slipping into a heart attack-induced coma late last February, hip-hop artist Guru succumbed to cancer yesterday. The legendary MC, whose real name was Keith Elam, somehow managed to sound both rough and smooth at the same time.
