Next Friday (December 18), Cage will conclude his US tour with a hometown show at B.B. King's Blues Club. This has been a big year for Cage, who became the first artist to release an EP through MTV. New Cage album if you haven't heard already. Pretty decent. Some tracks are straight stellar - and the over all feel is quite dark - typical Cage stuff. I mean Def Jux wouldn't support it if they didn't like it - so.... Anyway - this is the new single/video off the album directed by hollywood juggernaut and Def Jux fanatic Shia LaBeouf. Where to start? I guess in order to understand Cage through his music, you must first understand what brought him to this point in his life. There's no denying it was a fucked up ride. As a young child he was forced to tie homemade tourniquets around his fathers arm and inject him with heroin and at the age of eight his father was arrested during a standoff with police for threatening his family with a shotgun. Everyone is talking about this video for some reason. My guess is because Shia Labeouf directed it and has a cameo, considering there's no other reason to talk about it. Unless it's to laugh at the scenes with Cage rapping at what appears to be a warehouse party. Pure comic gold. Kudos on making a very funny comedy video, Shia.
