For some reason, there has been an odd resurgence of Fiona Apple 'hype' because she has a new album coming out, or something. I'm not sure why any1 cares. From what I understand, she is just another 1990s 'singersongwriter' personality. She had some song where she rolled around in her underwear on VH1, and now people are pretending that she is the foremother of indie songstresses. Why is Fiona Apple getting 'buzz hype' from the boring indie community? She is a misplaced 90s artist, being processed by the indie blog hype machine. [...]

Fiona Apple has scheduled her first U.S. tour in five years. The seven-date jaunts kicks off at  South by Southwest on March 15th, and then hits Chicago before ending with five dates along the East coast. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 24th. Apple is expected to release her first album in seven years sometime in 2012. In the meantime, check out her legendary video for "Criminal" below, as well.
