![[LP Review] The Middle East – I Want That You Are Always Happy](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3581231_lg.jpg)
Tweet Call me old fashioned but I love lyrics as much as I love melody and one gripe I have with 'I Want That You Are Always Happy' by The Middle East is that I can hardly make out a single word. I'm ashamed that I'm echoing a former elocution teacher when I say "diction people!" Nonetheless I don't feel it's an unnecessary criticism. That being said this album is a pleasant if melancholy listen, which is hardly surprising considering the opening [...]
When you can't classify the genre, sometimes you just got to call them indie. Thus, folky, acousticy, ambient The Middle East are indie. Guess where they're from? If you said the middle east, you're ridiculous. They're from Queensland, OZ. Share: Digg this post Recommend on Facebook Buzz it up share via Reddit Share with Stumblers [...]

The title may be misleading because this has much more to do with Australia than the near East, but hang with me for a second. So, I was down under a few weeks ago and was pleased to find the average Aussie's taste in music superior to that of our own. During a party I found myself listening to Miike Snow and Passion Pit instead of Miley Cyrus and Ke$ha. It nearly brought me to tears. Along my trek (Dare I call it a walkabout?), I met a few music enthusiasts, one of whom I'm still trading suggestions [...]
the middle east - blood [i can't believe these aussies are coming to the US and only performing at sxsw for now! though they'll be back sometime in may for a proper tour, my need to see them is... now! what a gentle childlike gem they've created here, too bad it'll be yonks before i get a chance to watch them in person...] http://feeds.feedburner.com/Wo ngiesMusicWorld

by Andrew Frisicano DOWNLOAD: The Middle East - Blood (MP3) DOWNLOAD: The Middle East - The Darkest Side (MP3) Way back in November, we mentioned that Australian band The Middle East would be making their first US appearance around SXSW 2010 . Well, we can announce one of the shows on that trip (if not the first) will be the official BrooklynVegan SXSW showcase with [...]

Camera Obscura - "French Navy" (from My Maudlin Career ) [MP3] You just can't get past the sweet melodies and the smitten feeling that engulfs you while listening to Camera Obscura, until you notice the romance inevitably turns to heartbreak - the string section just tugs at your heart. From their newest album My Maudlin Career , "French Navy" would conjure some sort of familiarity in most of us where we once desperately wanted to save a relationship but it was already out of our hands. Sigh, I love you Camera Obscura. [...]
Australia's The Middle East find the sweet spot between shambling, atmospheric alt-folk and hazy, psychedelic art-pop on their recently released digital EP Recordings of The Middle East -- five songs culled from the band's '08 self-distributed debut full-length of the same name. Disbanded just weeks after the album's original release, the band were convinced to reassemble and tour on the strength of growing critical chatter and intense fan buzz. We're taken with the unhurried, lush melodic meanderings of songs such as "The Darkest Side" [...]

We recently debuted the track "Blood" by Australian band THE MIDDLE EAST over at the Association of Music Podcasting before it appeared here - and now finally have a chance to introduce it at Insomnia Radio on the Daily Dose feed. The members of The Middle East hail from Townsville, a town situated in the far north of the country and adjacent to the Great Barrier Reef. It is here that the band created and recorded the five songs that make up the "Recordings Of The Middle East", of which this track "Blood" is a part [...]
Happy Sunday! Florence + the Machine - You've Got The Love (XX remix) The Middle East - Blood Frightened Rabbit - Swim Until You Can't See Land This last one doesn't really go with the soothing indie vibes of the previous videos, but I had to post it because it's just that amazing. Mighty ...
