If you were a kid growing up in Britain, you would probably remember that little old animated film called " The Snowman " -- a touching holiday story that's basically an existentialist version of 'Frosty the Snowman'. Obviously, The Maccabees grew up with it and loved it so much which is why they made their own version of the moving and haunting song in the film called Walking In The Air. I've made no secret of my love for The Maccabee s over the past few years, but they have taken the slow and heart-wrenchingly beautiful song from The Snowman (originally composed by Howard Blake and performed by Peter Auty ), and made it their own. I think everyone should hear this cover. The original is called Walking in the Air by The Snowman, but The Maccabees have done a  brilliant job covering it.  It's probably the best one I've ever heard (Orlando's voice!), such talented musicians. This has been doing the rounds since last night and I can say once again, I am feeling extremely festive. I've been wanting to rush home to get this on the blog to share with you guys. 'Walking in the Air' is an absolute classic that instantly makes me feel nostalgic for my childhood.
