One listen to Sky Ferreira 's "Red Lips" and immediately the words "dirty, sexy grunge" come to mind. At only 20 years old, Sky's working on her debut album I'm Not Alright , out later this fall. It features collaborations with Jon Brion (Fiona Apple), Blake Mills (Band of Horses), Cass McCombs and Shirley Manson (Garbage). So much controversy with Sky Ferreira. I think people are just too quick to compare artists to other artists in their attempt to better relate. Ferreira's breakout material was done when she was 15-17 years old, so I welcome her new sound and assume it showcases more of her own personality and growth as an artist. The Red Lips video is one that may have you covering your eyes at times, and peaking through your fingers. That spider!
