Green Day has made some mighty fine punk-rock over the years. Then, kind of out of left-field, they started making some equally fine arena-filling, rock-opera stuff.   Of the bands we children of the 902s grew up with, maybe none have gone through as interesting musical changes, while remaining relevant,  as Green Day has. Green Day has again raised the bar for a modern rock band. The veteran rock trio will release three thematically-linked LPs this fall, titled 'Uno!', 'Dos!' and 'Tres!'. As Green Day has done in the past with American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown, they've gone writ large with their ambitions, writing over 50 songs, which will spill out over the three LPs over the next few months. It really a throwback day today, as now Green Day have released the 1st single from their upcoming record iUno!. “Oh Love”  is a light piece of power pop, perfectly suitable for the Summer. Go sing-along in the lyric video below. iUno! , the first part of the i!Uno! , iDos! , iTres! trilogy, will also be released on September 25th 

As promised , Green Day has posted the first single from the first of their three upcoming albums. The song is called "Oh, Love" and it comes from ¡Uno! which is due out September 25, 2012 and was described as the " power-pop " album of the trilogy.

The first song from the first third of Green Day's forthcoming ¡Uno! / ¡Dos! / ¡Tres! trilogy debuted today. "Oh Love" sees the band scaling back the insufferable bombast of their last couple albums, and delivering pretty slick, effective power-pop. Of ¡Uno! , the album from which "Oh Love" was lifted, the band's bassist Mike Dirnt told Rolling Stone , "We tapped into our version of Exile On Main Street ."
