The National performed on Canadian Public Radio's "On Q" w/ Jian Ghomeshi on December 7th. They were joined by Bon Iver's Justin Vernon for an amazing performance of "Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks" which closed their 2010 release "High Violet" and has also closed out their live set. It is a happy day when Matt Berninger and co. release new material. They gave us album High Violet in 2010 but this gave us new songs "Think You Can Wait" (one of QM's 100 Best songs of 2011 ) and "Exile/Villify", and now previewed two tracks off of their presumed next album on Canadaian music program Q. The National just surprised everyone last night on Q on CBC Radio by performing two brand new tracks titled Rylan and I Need My Girl . I was actually just wondering the other day when The National would grace us with some new tunes. Well they teamed up with the folks at Q Live in Toronto yesterday and gave us two new songs 'Rylan' and 'I Need My Girl'. 'Rylan' has that classic indie sound that The National seem to do better then anyone over the last few years. 'I Need My Girl' sounds like a story that is best told to music.
