Download the MP3 Sampler (.zip) 1. David Mead - Almost & Always On the MP3 sampler: Sicily Top of the pile for 2009 is the latest release from David Mead, a set of breathtakingly beautiful songs that barely break a sweat but leave a huge emotional impact. I know I'm not the only Mead fan who thought he'd peaked with 2004's magnificent Indiana - and, to be honest, the two records aren't stylistically comparable [...]

I've already written about Bat For Lashes a while ago. But I love this mysterious girl and I want to show you this live performance at the show " Later with Jools Holland " that I watched a couple of days ago. Pretty amazing... Bat For Lashes - Daniel (Live Later with Jools Holland 04-21-2009) And here are some other songs and great covers performed live at " Lounge BBC Radio 1 ", " Fair Game with Faith Salie " and at the Radiohead [...]
Bat for Lashes' latest single, "Daniel", is performed on "Later With Jools Holland". The sound quality from this video is a lot better than that of previous live clips. Also, if you haven't already, go get Two Suns. Natasha Khan is kind of amazing.

On first listen this first single from Bat for Lashes' excellent Two Suns does sound like a token 80s throwback that seems so in vogue recently; everyone's been doing the synthpop sound for quite a while now, and it'll only get more unbearable as 2009 goes on and it reaches its inevitable critical mass. This however, in typical Bat for Lashes fashion, is pretty fresh and inventive sounding. In a way she's always been drawing influences from the 80s, her first album was very Kate Bush, so perhaps that explains why she sounds [...]
Here's a crop of videos from the today, including Bat for Lashes performance of "Daniel" on Later... With Jools Holland . M83 - We Own the Sky King Khan & The Shrines - Land of The Freak Bat for Lashes - Daniel (Live on Later... With Jools Holland)

Released earlier this month, Bat For Lashes' sophomore album Two Suns is incredible! Check her out performing "Daniel" on Later with Jools Holland . [ Bat For Lashes Myspace ] [ Bat For Lashes Official Site ] Unfortunately no Austin dates as of yet, but check out where she'll be on tour .
Bat For Lashes is showing up more and more frequently on my radar. I'm not head over heels for her (them?) yet, but I'm definitely warming up to the music. I'm not really sure how to describe my feelings about it. Some music sinks. Some music floats. Bat For Lashes glides. Lead singer Natasha Khan's voice has a soft, airy quality about it and it soars high above the dank, dark backdrop provided by the band. You know what? Maybe I am head over heels for them. I think I'm going to buy the album Two Suns today. [...]

Bat For Lashes stopped by Later with Jools Holland last night to perform Daniel off the recently released album Two Suns . Daniel is one of our favorite tracks of 2009, so far. Such a beautiful song. Watch: Also, check out the official video for Daniel here .
Last night, Bat For Lashes (Natasha Khan) brought her enchantingly beautiful self to Later With Jools Holland to perform Daniel , a song that has eclipsed obsession-status for me, seeing as it just gets better with every listen. Is this the best song of 2009? Quite possibly. And in case you didn't notice, that's Charlotte Hatherley on guitar and backing vocals! We're kind of bummed that we'll be in LA when Bat For Lashes comes to NYC/Bowery Ballroom on April 30. [...]
Two Suns is doing pretty well for Natasha Khan aka Bat For Lashes, in fact it did very well in the UK. So, it makes sense that she went on a British show, Jools Holland to do "Daniel" with her...

Natasha Khan's presented up her song of the year contender in various states of dress, from Karate Kid and La Russoed to stripped and lo-fi . Each has been a good look for "Daniel," although this straight-no-chaser take for Jools Holland is a reminder that this one would stand on its own independent of savvy alternate arrangements or nostalgia kitsch; great song, great voice, great performance. She's coming to NYC soon and we are psyched -- I've laid out her tour dates because you'll probably want them in four [...]
