First, check out this hysterics-inducing interview of Jeff Tweedy by Mr. Stephen Colbert, in which Tweedy tells Colbert that yes, indeed, he can be "part of rock and roll too," and bestows the gift of an Obama T-shirt upon him. Colbert thanks Tweedy and tells him that his endorsement of Obama will only be finalized when he earns his spot in Obama's Cabinet. Joe the Plummer meet "Wilco the Song." Jeff Silky ... err ... Tweedy braved Stephen Colbert 's relentless grilling on Oct. 30, and Wilco debuted a new tune. It's a shame the song was a one-time deal for the show ... it's pretty gosh-darned good. And in the spirit of voting the band is offering a free download of its performance of Bob Dylan's "I Shall Be Released" with the Fleet Foxes . As Colbert put it, sounds like socialist behavior.

Wilco World My Dad hails from the small town of Belleville, just across the river from St. Louis. Although it would seem that nothing of any merit(other than my family) has ever come out of this Illinois town, there is one huge exception. So, Wilco debuted a new song on the Colbert Report last night. Sounds like much more of a "rocker" than the stuff on Sky Blue Sky. The performance is a good one, and it's nice to hear the band in more of an ass-kicking mode. That being said, is anyone else hearing a distinct "Werewolves Of London" vibe on the main riff?
