It seems easier than ever for bands to get their music heard. Just set up a bandcamp site (move over Myspace) or a facebook bandpage and you're set. Yet people have to find the music in order to hear it and that's where music blogs come in. Get enough blogs to write about something and people will start to listen. Yet emailing off a track or two to everyone under the sun doesn't really cut it (my bursting inbox is evidence of that). Creativity can help a band to stand out and electronic indie-rockers The Pass [...]

We simply can not get enough of The Pass, especially now we have heard the LP. Here are two video's done for the tracks, 'Vultures' and 'Treatment Of The Sun' off the awesome LP 'BURST' . The video for 'Vultures' is also a contest, in which you need to find 30 music Blogs/Websites within the video. All the best with that one, it sounds tricky. Needless to say you won't be finding 1forthepeople in there! The track is SICK though, Enjoy.. Oh PS. These are video's for tracks 1 and [...]

THE PASS To get your attention marketing has to be clever these days. Very clever. We now live in such a noisy and crowded environment, with millions of messages reaching us on a daily basis, that it's virtually impossible to get noticed unless you do something remarkable . It seems that, for the most part, traditional media has struggled in the age of the internet, even though they may be brilliant, they're simply too slow and cumbersome as organisations to adapt. We are over decade into the wider public's adoption of the internet, yet some [...]
When I got my first listen to The Pass , a dance-pop act from Louisville that should be on the lips of indie fans and several variations of hipsters very soon, the first response that came out was Passion Pit . Yeah, there's the obvious sound resemblance (outside of Michael Angelakos's super-high falsettos), but the reason the name jumped out, more or less, was the impossibly enriching single "Vultures." I'm not calling it "Sleepyhead", the Passion Pit single that essentially began their commercial success, but I wouldn't be surprised if "Vultures" did the same thing. [...]
I'm in a music video, sorta! This is a video that documents all of the band's...
I already posted the music video for The Pass's "Treatment Of The Sun" but that's hardly enough. I wanna do the band true justice and make sure you're all aware of this band. I got a listen at their debut album BURST , and quite simply, it's a great album. May just be my new party album. If you have to compare, let's call these guys the Passion Pit of 2010. They are fresh, colorful, and create tight electronic jams that will have even the stiffest feet moving. Their entire album is [...]
The Pass are one of my favorite new bands and you can check out our past songs here. "As you know, there are a lot of clever names for music blogs and the goal of the video was to transform the name of music blogs into human/prop representations. An example of this would be the [...]
That's right, yours truly Pasta Primavera has been featured in The Pass's blog loving video for "Vultures". Zach over at the fab We Listen For You helped put together the... [go to the website to read the rest of the article, download mp3s and more]

I'm having an 'I Love The Internet' moment. A little while ago, a music blog called We Listen For You teamed up with Louisville, Kentucky band The Pass for a little experiment/contest about music blogs. They put together a music video of an epic house party, depicting and acting out clues to depict 39 different music blogs. Readers of the blog and viewers of the video were to guess as many music blogs in the video as they could. In WLFY's words "...the video was 90% a contest and 10% trying to do a [...]
At this point I have been thanked in liner notes, I have stood backstage alongside my idols, I have rubbed elbows with musicians and had songs dedicated to me. It's a surreal feeling going from die-hard fan to an actual stepping stone for musicians to give out samples of their material and it has been... Read More
I always say I'm sorry every month for going away for a few days/weeks (2 weeks here) so I'm just going to save my fucking excuses and start blogging. I'm completely torn, stressed, but I WILL blog because I like to. So some of you might now that Zach from We Listen For You is The Pass 's biggest supporter and fan, and he made this little music video for their song "Vultures". This is actually a pretty cool music video, because there is a concept for the video. [...]
Aqui, [...]

The good people at We Listen For You have devised a plan to promote a band they love and get a contest going with our beloved readers in the blogosphere. Basically, they filmed a video with the Pass for their song "Vultures." Throughout this video are references to various music blogs. The Needle Drop 's reference is pretty obvious, but there are thirty-eight other sites you'll need to guess in order to win a fifty-dollar gift certificate to Insound . Zach [...]
The Pass are a band that might not normally find too much space on a blog like Slowcoustic - but know we can get our dance on once and a while. So why not get some groove going on over here. Yeah, I said it. Well The Pass are a band with friends. Friends with the blog We Listen For You (see the blogroll folks). This leads to a fun and new video for the song "Vultures" that also comes with a bit of a contest to name all the references to music blogs ACTUALLY IN the video!! [...]
There's no quicker way to a blogger's page than through his/her ego. I'm pretty sure that's how the old adage goes, at least. So here we have something that plays off/rewards blogger's egos, music fan's desire for new tunes and the internet roamers' collection of unusable facts. So if you're a music fan who devotes [...]
Zach Hart of We Listen For You directed a wildly creative video for Louisville dance-rock band The Pass's song "Vultures" which features over 30 visual references to the names of music blogs. Hart is currently holding a contest for his Where's Waldo -inspired video awarding a $50 gift certificate to Insound and a CD of the Pass's debut Burst to the person who can name the most blog references. Email your guesses to guesstheblogs@gmail.com . Can you spot Everybody Taste in their somewhere? The Pass - "Crosswalk Stereo" [...]
