A lot has been said already about the death of Amy Winehouse. Music websites far and wide have been commenting on her brief, but meaningful musical legacy. I never really listened to Winehouse's music so I really have nothing to add to the conversation, except to say that I find it very tragic. However, a friend of mine who identified with Winehouse as a fellow artist, felt particularly moved by her death, and wrote some very inspired words about his thoughts on it. Amy Winehouse's death is a tragedy, but we'd like to remember her for what she did best. Though the Grammy-winning artist struggled through live performances in recent times, we haven't forgotten how magnetic and powerful she could be while singing her heart out on a stage. Very saddened to hear news this morning that Amy Winehouse, the troubled yet immensely talented soul singer, has died at only 27. According to reports , Winehouse was found dead at her home in London's Camden Square on Saturday afternoon due to causes that are currently unexplained. It's hard to process the gravitas of such a sad loss at the moment, so while more information surfaces today, I'll be revisiting clips of her best performances and posting personal favorites below.
