If you're not a parent, then you may not know this: Having kids makes it really hard to sit down and watch a film, and even harder to go out to one (and watchable family films are few and far between). Even keeping up with TV shows, which require less uninterupted viewing time, proves challenging. Personally, I'm at least one season behind on Dexter, Curb, Walking Dead, Bored to Death , and I haven't even started Breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire , and three or four other shows I'd like to, but simply aren't appropriate for a four-year-old. I have been a fan of Chaz Bundik and his team: Toro Y Moi, in the past, but 2011 certainly placed them high on my list of "when there in town I must see them" type bands. Without doubt,  Chaz Bundick (aka Toro Y Moi ) is one of the most uniquely talented and creative young musicians on the rise.  Quickly emerging as a buzzworthy favorite among both fans and critics alike,  the young producer/performer has been linked to the chillwave movement.  Even though his 2nd full release, Underneath The Pine, was released in February, Toro also has a new EP, Freaking Out ,  coming out next week.  One of his songs, "Still Sounds" [...]

Toro Y Moi is definitely a favorite for some chillwave working music. Check out the video for "How I Know," featuring Damien from Mean Girls.

Toro Y Moi has pulled another track from Underneath the Pine and given it the video treatment. This clip for "How I Know" mostly takes place in a haunted house, where a couple of female ghosts torment a family, ultimately killing them and turning them into apparitions. The best part is when a DVD flies across the room and beheads one of the unfortunate fellows. Clearly the director, Jordan Kim, is a fan of Sam Raimi-esque slapstick horror—there's even a dance routine conducted by the gathering of ghosts to bring the clip to a ghoulish (yet amusing) close.
