If you're not a parent, then you may not know this: Having kids makes it really hard to sit down and watch a film, and even harder to go out to one (and watchable family films are few and far between). Even keeping up with TV shows, which require less uninterupted viewing time, proves challenging. Personally, I'm at least one season behind on Dexter, Curb, Walking Dead, Bored to Death , and I haven't even started Breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire , and three or four other shows I'd like to, but simply aren't appropriate for a four-year-old. ![[8 Days of Kicksmas 2011] Favorite Band/Group: Toro Y Moi](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3950683_lg.jpg)
I have been a fan of Chaz Bundik and his team: Toro Y Moi, in the past, but 2011 certainly placed them high on my list of "when there in town I must see them" type bands. I think we all realize that listening to a band via the mp32s we download is one thing, but being lucky enough to experience a band live, possibly more than once, lets you build a different (usually better) relationship with your love of that artist's music. This is certainly the case with myself and Toro Y Moi. I was fortunate enough [...]

As with most holidays, it seems that we've forgotten what the true meaning of Halloween really is. For young adults in 2011, the word "Halloween" evokes imagery of girls dressed up as slutty nurses or slutty rabbits, guys with confidence boosted not only by heavy drinking and drug use, but by the fact that they're dressed as their favorite superhero or movie character, and the inevitable walk of shame that this combination of slutty girls and confident guys yields, which is exponentially more shameful when one is wearing a costume. Walking home at 10 in the morning dressed as a [...]

This here offering from Carpark is their way of saying thanks to the fans that have supported the label over the years. Pretty sweet, right. Look for it on December 6. The limited edition holiday release will only be available at retail stores. If you like the idea of a free compilation featuring acts like Toro Y Moi , Class Actress , Dan Deacon , Cloud Nothings , Memory Tapes and more, you best get one before they're gone. There’s holiday music, there’s non-holiday music. It’s almost like winning the lottery. Until [...]
TORO Y MOI, UNKNOWN MORTAL ORCHESTRA, BASS DRUM OF DEATH ( Branx , 320 SE 2nd) Chaz Bundick is a puppetmaster of a huge range of dancing, bouncing sounds. You know him better as Toro y Moi, your one-stop shop for future jamz and retro '80s synths, all squelching along for a funky, freaky dance party. Don't miss Unknown Mortal Orchestra, with tightly coiled funk-psych and a flamboyant live show (guitar heroics! Capes, sometimes!) that you don't want to miss. NED LANNAMANN [...]
Without doubt, Chaz Bundick (aka Toro Y Moi ) is one of the most uniquely talented and creative young musicians on the rise. Quickly emerging as a buzzworthy favorite among both fans and critics alike, the young producer/performer has been linked to the chillwave movement. Even though his 2nd full release, Underneath The Pine, was released in February, Toro also has a new EP, Freaking Out , coming out next week. One of his songs, "Still Sounds" [...]
Toro Y Moi's "How I Know" video has it all: ghosts, dancing, bubble gum, and Damian from Mean Girls.
Chillwave OG, yeah I said OG, Toro y Moi released the latest music video for the single "How I Know" from his sophomore album, Underneath the Pine. In the video, directed by Jordan...
Toro Y Moi ’s new video, ‘How I Know’ is decidedly slapstick by Toro Y Moi standards. Jordan Kin directed this clip which has gone a bit hipster Casper. ‘How I Know’ is the third single from ‘Underneath the Pine’. Buy Toro Y Moi’s music from: [...]
Bored and ghostly teenage girls give a few boys a run for their money in Toro Y Moi's video for "How I Know." The ways they die are comical enough, but that dance number just shoots it over the top.

Toro Y Moi is definitely a favorite for some chillwave working music. Check out the video for "How I Know," featuring Damien from Mean Girls.
Toro Y Moi has pulled another track from Underneath the Pine and given it the video treatment. This clip for "How I Know" mostly takes place in a haunted house, where a couple of female ghosts torment a family, ultimately killing them and turning them into apparitions. The best part is when a DVD flies across the room and beheads one of the unfortunate fellows. Clearly the director, Jordan Kim, is a fan of Sam Raimi-esque slapstick horror—there's even a dance routine conducted by the gathering of ghosts to bring the clip to a ghoulish (yet amusing) close.
El último video de Chaz Bundick es de la canción que más me gusta de Underneath the pine, How I know. Aunque a estas alturas ya la tengamos mas que escuchada, no por ello deja de ser tan buena como el primer día. (vía playgroundmag.com )

it's going to rain the TORO Y MOI for the next 90 minutes in WYG HQs so you might as well get your thriller fix of the South Carolinian he-synth-popper's new HOW I KNOW video thnxx. wotyougot
Click here to view the embedded video. Toro Y Moi 's Chaz Bundick sure has been keeping busy. Not only did he bring out Underneath The Pine earlier this year, not only is he releasing new EP Freaking Out on 13 September, but here he is with a new single and brilliant video to go with it. His new video is like a nostalgic take on Casper The Friendly Ghost. Or like watching Scooby Doo through a kaleidoscope, if you'd prefer a more clichéd analogy. [...]
