Two Weeks I thought I didn't like this song at first, but then it kept getting stuck in my head. So I figured it was worth a post.
This week's worth of videos is dedicated to Grizzly Bear's amazing single "Two Weeks" off their new release Veckatimest . I think this is one of the best songs of the year and when I need something to lift me up I blast this and sing as if I were an entire orchestra and choir. It's powerful stuff. Just got an email from Insound to let you all know that you can now pre-order the new Grizzly Bear album, Veckatimest , on vinyl. Nico Muhly - who composed The Reader soundtrack - contributes to the album as well as Beach House d.a.r.l.i.n.g. Victoria Legrand. If you want some grizzy bee in the meantime, multi-instrumentalist Chris Taylor (not this guy ) plays sax on Beirut 's "On A Bayonet," hot off the March of the Zapotec press. Grizzly Bear will release their new album on May 29th in Ireland. Titled Veckatimest (pronounced veck-ah-tim-est) , it is the much anticipated followup (in the State office anyway) to 2006's Yellow House . It features contributions from Beach House's Victoria Legrand and Icelandic classical composer Nico Muhly, the album is named after a beautiful uninhabited island off the the coast of Massachusetts. Edward Droste's Twitter is pretty awesome, that's for sure. According to it, Grizzly Bear have completed the recording of the follow-up to 2006's Yellow House and are now in the mixing stages. Gareth Jones, who has worked on albums by Liars and Interpol (amongst others) has flown in from London to mix the album. Expect an album announcement very soon.
