Now bigger than ever before and televised across the world, they are the perfect stage for artists to show everyone just how great they are, and, if we're lucky, make a bit of a fool of themselves, too. Fluffed performances, fudged acceptance speeches, stage invasions and elaborate hoaxes have now become the norm. So in the midst of the 2010 awards season we thought we'd celebrate some of the [...]

Well... I have no idea what Bret Michaels has to do with the Tony Awards but here he is putting the finishing touch on another fine, classy performance!
A Tony Award stage prop does something that I've been trying to do for ages... punch Poison's Bret Michaels in the face. Bret was good-natured backstage about the gaffe, but he was treated later for a fractured nose, and a bruised ego. I've watched this about 5 times today, and I'm lovin it.
Poor Bret Michaels. We just can't stop laughing at him.
The Tony Awards aren't exactly what you call rock n' roll. However this year the guitars were out in full force as Bret Michaels and the cast of the Broadway musical Rock of Ages took the stage to sing Poison's "Nothin' But A Good Time". While the performance was a success, Bret decided to schmooze the crowd a bit longer than he was supposed to. Which means he didn't see the set piece descending towards the stage behind him until it was too late. As he turned around he was knocked out [...]

Bret Michaels broke his nose last night when he missed his mark while performing during the opening number of the Tony Awards. Michaels and his hair metal band Poison performed "Nothing but a Good Time" along with the cast of "Rock of Ages." "Rock of Ages" celebrates 1980s hair music and features songs by Journey and other bands. It stars Constantine Maroulis, a former American Idol contestant, as an aspiring rock star. Bret, I cannot think of any injury more lame and less hard than getting flattened by a set [...]
Sometimes we just can't help ourselves...in case you haven't heard (or seen) yet - and we did already link to this on OPP this morning - Bret Michaels got absolutely nailed by a descending screen at last night's Tony Awards. We can laugh about it now that we know he's not seriously injured or anything, at least that's how we're justifying posting it. We're guessing when he talks about the traumatic event, it will be couched in terms of being "not awesome". So check it out below, perhaps the most engaging 12 seconds of video you'll see [...]
While the disappointment felt by Brett Michaels' more bloodthirsty adversaries who wish that this episode had unfolded with more violence is relatable, there's something about the softness in his fall that I find really cute, in an emasculating, baby doll kind of way: * I didn't watch the Tony Awards, but I'm hazarding a guess. Poor Bret Michaels. From what we hear, he's had it pretty rough since around 1991-92. And by rough we mean he's been able to basically live the exact same lifestyle he did when he was mixing it up with CC and the boys during the salad days of Poison . How did he manage it? By taking it on the chin and getting back up, never giving up and never giving in. And wearing sweet hats. So while most people are laughing at Michaels this morning, after he got Wile E. Coyote'd by the glimmering backdrop at [...]
After all the super-serious reportage on anti-Jazzy-Jeff-ism over the weekend, a little levity was in order. So thanks, KCTV5, for providing just what we needed: video Bret Michaels getting walloped b... Continue reading "Brett Michaels owned by large chunk of Broadway scenery" >
