We've really been into Grimes' Visions album lately. It's got that cool genre-spanning and edgy sound that'll have your friends asking if you're sure it's not the Drive soundtrack. The Emily Kai Bock -directed clip for "Oblivion" puts the lovable Grimes (or as I call her, Claire) in several high school scenes where she's jazz-handing about and making new friends. Montreal’s ethereal pop icon Grimes first shared ‘Oblivion’ back in October but has today unveiled the accompanying visuals. The video sees Claire Boucher taking her infectious indie-pop for a bizarre walk through the men’s locker room and onto a football game and motocross stadium … not exactly what I first imagined when listening to ‘Oblivion’ but it’s cool to see the track getting the full, glossy technicolor treatment. Proper weird but pop-in-a-Grimes-way video for Grimes ’ Oblivion , taken from her Visions - which is out now on 4AD/Arbutus and definitely worth purchasing. Directed by Emily Kai Bock , filmed at the Stade Olympique in Montréal.

Whether or not you subscribe to the deafening buzz and hype that has followed Grimes and Claire Boucher for the better part of the last year, you're going to probably want to watch this. She just dropped the new video treatment for Visions standout Oblivion and, keeping in line with pretty much all of her work, it's a good one. Rather than describing the omnipresent theatrics of impromptu dancing at a motorcross rally, I'll just say this: if you didn't have a crush on her already, you probably will now. See [...]

On another note, how much of a smoke show is she? I swear once Barstool gets a hold of this video, the internet may be shut down. I mean, moves that would just slice a tiger in half. Grimes shares her latest video for much loved track "Oblivion" today, shot in different shades of sports arenas including motocross and (lol Canadian) football stadiums-half-naked jocks, locker scenes and frat party included. Grimes  came in with the quickness and took the spot as indie-pop's new girl to pay attention to with her excellent Visions album. It's just sweet enough to have you humming along, but challenging and edgy enough to hold the attention of those looking for anti-radio freshness. A football stadium seems like the last place you'd find Grimes—and impish, punky-looking character—but that's where her new video for "Oblivion" takes her, and she seems to be a hit there. It's nice to see Grimes visual aesthetic hit you in technicolor in her new video. Not much happens apart from Boucher hanging around stadiums singing 'Oblivion' in front of spectators and rabid fans as well as hanging around with dudes in locker rooms with their tops off.
