The Rakes have a new single out soon, it's called "The World Was A Mess But His Hair Was Perfect". Presumably this title is NOT in reference to CNN celebrity news anchor Anderson Cooper but a subtle commentary on the state of young people in today's society--brilliant. There's also a video. Watch out with those scissors Alan! Singing and barbering rarely mix :(

I love The Rakes . Even met Alan once. I'd show you the picture, but I'll save myself the embarrassment. And although the latest album Ten New Messages took a long while for me to warm to, I have always had a soft spot for this song. And here is the video! Very nice. I wouldn't let them go near my luscious long locks.
