Brooklyn, NY teen punks, Tiny Masters of Today , will release their new album, Skeletons , via Mute on June 16th. They have finished up 11 new songs and will be debuting them live at SXSW in Austin, Texas. The core unit of siblings Ivan and Ada (ages 15 and 12 respectively) is joined by drummer Jackson Pollis. The SXSW show will be their first live performance following a six-month hiatus. Mute Records ( home of Richard Hawley, Art Brut, Liars, Erasure, Grinderman, Erasure, Moby, Depeche Mode, Goldfrapp, etc, etc... ) went ahead and signed Brooklyn's own Tiny Masters of Today - the band composed of members with an average age of 12! That's awesome. Their debut album Bang Bang Boom Cake will be released August 6th, and the first single 'Radio Riot' can be heard in the video below... [...]

The kids are alright, and now they've got a video. Add that to a record deal with Mute (debut LP Bang Bang Boom Cake is out this August), a day-stealing SXSW set (complete with "Jump Around" cover), and some adorably punky songs, and the sibs of Tiny Masters Of Today -- Ivan, 13; Ada, 11 -- are the cutest thing since Smoosh (the sketch band and the real one). Gotta love how disaffected Ada is. Eyes rolled, arms crossed .... she's done her homework! (no pun intended, etc.)
