Queens of the stoneage - Friday, July 6th The festival is just around the bend now, and boy we are looking forward to it. One of the most disapointing concerts I've witnessed on the orange stage ever, was QOTSA a couple of years ago. When they played a gig in Vega last year, the band stll remember how horrible their performance was. They excused the poor performance, and promissed that they would take revenge this year. I'm pretty sure that this years concert will be unforgettable. QOTSA - Littlesister [mp3] [...]
So we've been hyping the hell out of the new Queens Of The Stone Age album, Era Vulgaris , over here at Badical Beats . The album will hit stores this Tuesday June 12, but as of this moment, the entire album stream is available at their official website. Check it out now, get your dancing shoes on, pop some peyote (of course we do not endorse this), and be sure to buy the album after it blows your noodle away! Also, we've been acquainted with Bulby quite a bit during this [...]
For all of you downloading music or movies via torrent sites, it looks like you may want to be a bit more careful. A Federal Judge has ordered TorrentSpy to log its users and submit logs to the MPAA. "This is believed to be the first time a judge has ordered a defendant to log visitor activity and then hand over the information to the plaintiff. The decision - arrived at last month but under seal - could force sites that are defendants in a law suit [...]
Rapper/Producer Akon is in deep doo-doo after an incident at one of his shows at Dutchess Stadium in New York. Apparently a fan threw a piece of paper at Akon during one of his between song "blabberings" that no one cares to hear. Akon singled out the culprit, got him up on stage, and completely manhandled him. The best part is it's all caught on tape....
I first stumbled across the five piece noise rock outfit from Los Angeles known as Suicide Club when they opened up for The Blood Brothers at the El Rey Theatre in April. I caught the end of their set, but it was more than enough to catch my interest. A few weeks later I got their debut album , Soft Machines EP, (Morphine Generation Recordings) in the mail and I was immediately hooked on their sound. Suicide Club is one of many bands that are part [...]

Grab your favorite pair of dancin' shoes and get ready to party for 7 nights straight with DJ/Stones Throw Records founder Peanut Butter Wolf in Los Angeles. Get this.... 7 different clubs, 7 consecutive nights, 7 different genres of music. "The idea came when I was moving last month," Wolf says. "After 28 years of record buying, I started organizing my records into genres for the first time. It occurred to me that LA is that rare city where as a DJ, you could do a whole week-long tour [...]
Bulby the light bulb will not be happy about Queens of the Stone Age dropping the alternative version to their music video for "Sick, Sick, Sick". Why? Because they replaced that scum-bag attention whore for some hot babe! Enjoy the new video kids...
A new genre has officially been coined. It's called "Dream Rock", and you won't quite understand it until you listen to this week's Badical Find, a band called Thrushes from Baltimore. You can hear hints of Dream Rock (also known as Dream-Core) in a few other Baltimore-based bands like Beach House and Arbouretum . Drenched in reverb, these guys push the "talent knob" to the limit with their swirling guitar riffs, goddess-like melodies, and crashing drums. Thrushes are [...]
This weekend is do or die day for Marilyn Manson and judging by the videos and tracks he's laid out, I'm doubting the "Antichrist" is ready to die yet. Sure he's not scary now that we realized he wasn't going to take over the world, but he can still put out some pretty wicked electro-rock. How do I know the tracks are wicked, funky fly? Simple! Marilyn Manson is streaming Eat Me, Drink Me on his Myspace page as we speak. [...]
While most of you were out bbq'ing and shopping at the mall over the Memorial Day weekend, I decided to hit the gym. While that may sound like a pretty crappy day, I was actually spending my early evening at the Tao Nightclub in Las Vegas getting to watch a full set by the Gym Class Heroes . This private event was definitely a way to kick off that weekend and I was even able to film a couple songs as I watched from the side of the stage. Jump down a bit further, and there are [...]
Normally I hate Maroon 5 knock off's or anything that sounds remotely close to those ass clowns, but when they can put together a video as kick ass as Sweep the Leg , they deserve a little attention. This 80's tribute to the best movie ever features the cast of Karate Kid all grown up and fat living in a trailer, Mr. Belding as a sensei, and a drummer who got his bass drum head from Meg of the White Stripes. Anyways, enjoy this modern 80's flashback brought to you by No More Kings !
Who doesn't love pasty musicians, sassy female vocalists and high energy rock that mixes The Grease Soundtrack with Blondie (if she had a strong lower register)? I know I do, and I love it even more when bands like The Long Blondes stream their ENTIRE upcoming album for us all to shimmy to. Someone To Drive You Home offers tracks so diverse that trying to categorize them would prove impossible. On one hand you have songs filled with [...]
Chicago hip-hop artist Common is getting ready to release his 7th studio album, Finding Forever , on July 31st. This politically charged jam will feature collaborations from Kanye West, Lily Allen, D'Angelo, the late J Dilla, and John Legend among others. You can stream Common's new single "The Game" on his Myspace page , and check out the music video trailer right here. The video premieres on MTV2 on May 29th.
Last night I went to check out Baltimore's finest "Folktronica" group, Beach House , at the legendary Knitting Factory on Hollywood Blvd. and Highland. The venue lies near the intersection of one of the biggest tourist traps this side of the Mississippi. After fending my way through waves of people dressed up in pirate costumes (it also happened to be opening night for the new Pirates of the Carribean movie), I made my way into a venue full of music fans and industry heads. [...]
I really need to clean up the old inbox so read below for the nifty shit I found. Some guy named Owen Duff sent me an MP3 of a track he recorded called "Act Of War" from his EP "A Tunnel, Closing In" and I'm kinda digging it. MP3: Act Of War - Owen Duff Looks like there's another video of Bulby promoting the new QOTSA album. About a week ago or so I was invited over to World's Fair for
Yeah yeah, I know... way too much Queen of the Stone Age shit on here lately. Someone even nailed me on it here in the comments of the last QOTSA post... But, in my defense... I'm a really lazy person...

As we progress closer to the release date of Era Vulgaris the releases become more exciting and fresh with every listen. Today I was graced with an advanced listen to another new track entitled "Turnin' on the Screw." It's a little bit slower than the album's other advanced releases with a tone similar to the b-side with Trent Reznor "Era Vulgaris," but fantastic all the same. "3's and 7's" is still probably the best thing to come out thus far but it will be exciting to hear how the album sounds as a [...]
