I thought all they had were potatoes

I thought all they had were potatoes I just came to the conclusion that the Finn Riggins have some sort of cosmic affect on my buddy Jim. See, it was March of last year that Jim first told me about this band because he had recently seen them live. One week later, Jim moved from Idaho back down to the Bay Area. Fast forward to today and my friend is moving to Chicago tomorrow and guess what he sent me just yesterday. This little gem: Based on this information, I've decided that I [...]

Finn Riggins' CD Release @ Berbati's Pan

Finn Riggins - Wake (Keep This Town Alive)
Portland, OR— There are musicians in Idaho!? Apparently so. Three-pieced Finn Riggins made the trek from Boise, ID on Saturday night to release their album, VS Wilderness . They had an intense energy with intricate keys, aggressive percussion, and sing-a-longish melodies. This was the highlight of the set: DNA confetti (what the hell was it?) being thrown at them on stage while the same mystery stuffs were running amuck in the music video being projected on stage simultaneously. The lesson we can all take from this imagery is that Finn Riggins will cut your DNA up into confetti and [...]

Move to Portland Already, Finn Riggins!

Move to Portland Already, Finn Riggins! About one month ago, just days before the craziness of Musicfest NW, I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with Finn Riggins, a pop trio from Idaho and maybe the nicest group of musicians I've ever met. Over the course of an hour, we talked about a lot of things besides music: community, small towns, life on the road. Even though the band resides in Idaho—guitarist Lisa Simpson and keyboardist Eric Gilbert just moved to Boise, and drummer Cameron Bouiss in the tiny town of Hailey—they consider Portland as a home away from home. Their new album, Vs. [...]
