Filed under: Exclusive , The Hit List YouTube.com There are plenty of scary music videos out there, but many of them are from artists you'd expect to go the horror route: Marilyn Manson , Nine Inch Nails , Tool , etc. But there are also many videos that are even more unsettling and off-putting, simply because it's unexpected. Whether it's possessed children starring in the clip of an '80s ballad, pop [...]

By: Brian Hepp Chances are you would recognize the ultra catchy guitar and synthesizer riffs of Brooklyn’s Mike Stroud and Evan Mast, also known as Ratatat . The electronic-pop duo first hit it big with their self-titled debut featuring hits like “Seventeen Years” and “Wildcat”. While still keeping their signature sound- one that could easily fit into an early 90s Sega Genesis video game- Ratatat has steadily improved their songwriting with LP4, their fourth studio album. [...]

Family christmas presents seem to follow the law of diminishing returns . The older you get the less benefit you derive from them. Maybe we were all just more easily amused when we were younger. As we get older, the unraveling of each present is often met with sense of adrenaline and uneasiness. It's our body's way of bracing ourselves for pain. Kind of like that feeling you get before being punched in the face. Thanks to my sister for completely blowing this law of nature out of the water by getting me [...]

Maybe its because I've been overseas for about a month, leaving behind the drudgery of work and forgetting (most) of my cares for a considerable while. Maybe its because Arsenal won last night. Maybe its the Coffee (although probably not, its not a Farza-latte) - but, believe it or not, Javid is in a good mood. Spreading peace and love and general well being to the masses, until I head back to work tomorrow and I go back to the normal hate-filled, bile-spewing fits of rage that Im normally associated with. I had just left for overseas when [...]

What's an electronic duo to do when critics begin pointing out that their electro-rock/hip-hop hybrid formula is beginning to grow stale? Why, release a new album consisting primarily of cutting-floor material from the record they put out two years ago, naturally. If Ratatat 's fourth studio album, LP4 —released this summer by XL Recordings —sounds similar to 20082s LP3 (not just in terms of creative titles, but the music itself), there's a good reason: the songs are culled from the same recording session. The difference? The tracks on LP4 feature Middle Eastern percussion [...]

The electronic duo warms up some leftovers from its LP3 .
Ratatat has released the video for Drugs from their latest album LP4 and I have to sat it's perfectly terrifying. Director Carl Burgess scoured through the best of the best (worst of the worst?) in stock footage that Getty had to offer and planted it a-la-carte for your viewing pleasure. Well, with his creepy, yet creative touch that is. I especially love/hate the akward woman with the blond bob and the leather jacket .

As if stock footage isn't creepy enough ( B Roll 's another story, however). Director Carl Burgess scrubbed the Getty Images archives for tons of choice stock footage for Ratatat 's new video, Drugs . But couldn't just leave their natural creepiness alone. Oh no. (Thanks, Mike !) Hear Ratatat on the Friday Five » BONUS : Made entirely from Predator clips , Ratatat 's Mirando video by E*VAX . [...]
