Pearl Jam 's Backspacer was released this week through Target, iTunes, and various indie stores. It's no secret that they're one of my favorite bands, and I've been loving the new record. While at times there are songs that pull away from the body of the record, Backspacer demonstrates that the band still has fire, it still has cohesion, and above all it demonstrates that Eddie Vedder is still lyrically able to crush giants.

I got the opportunity to see two nights of Pearl Jam at the United Center this week. Sunday night's show was amazing and it really displayed why this is the greatest American rock band of the last decade. On Sunday I had great seats, however they recycled many of the songs from the Sunday night set which I always find a bit disappointing. I'm a sucker for a lot of things. One of them being a good performance video. I mean, to this day, when I see Eddie Vedder, I still think about him swinging around in the Even Flow video and screaming out, "This is not a TV studio...JOSH! Turn these lights out!"
