Florence + The Machine's video for "Breaking Down" is the dreamy retro vacation film you wish your parents filmed back in the day, complete with Florence Welch sitting poolside sporting vintage sunnies. With a calendar-conscious debut, this surprisingly patriotic production unloads a heavy dose of nostalgic Americana - including star-spangled pinwheels and a waving American flag - on viewers just before Independence Day. It's difficult to create a record about be emotionally-volatile that does not seem completely somber, but Florence + The Machine nailed. Today, we have visuals on their track "Breaking Down," which is part of their critically-acclaimed album Ceremonials. The video is as creative as their music and definitely deserves a look.

Most of the videos from Florence + The Machine's 2011 album Ceremonials are grandly , ridiculously operatic affairs, but that's not the case with the new "Breaking Down" clip. Instead, the video works as both an American travelogue and a celebration of all things vintage, cameras and clothes especially. We love Flo.... we really do but her marketing strategy for Ceremonials has been quite puzzling along with her choice of singles. "Breaking Down" is the latest release from the Lp and most forgettable also. The clip shows a day in the life of Florence Welch. If VHS inspired footage is your thing then this post is for you, we're still waiting for " Seven Devils " which is looking more and more likely to never happen.

We're still getting a whole shitload of content from Florence + The Machine this year, even though their last album Ceremonials came out way long ago last year. Next week they'll release their latest single "Spectrum" and this week they've dropped a vintage-themed video for "Breaking Down" , arguably the best song from Ceremonials .
