It's fairly taxing to lambast your heroes. Karin and Olof Dreijer Andersson, disguised once again behind the guile of their once-estranged Venetian masks and more recently, opera, return as The Knife . Sort of... Tomorrow, In A Year was met with somewhat sterile reviews and infrequent shots of praise and Dots & Dashes didn't quite twig what was going on behind all those papier mache beaks this time around. Yet their D-Day (D standing also for Darwin), and any further evolution for such influentially indisposable electro pioneers will be decided this July in London's Barbican Theatre, for [...]

If Charles Darwin doesn't scream opera, then I don't know what does. Ummm, where to begin. I'm not to sure what I should say about this, I can appreciate it on an artistic level but I can't help but be a little disappointed that the album isn't more of what I was expecting. The Knife and anything associated with them has always been a bit out there, even for Swedish standards, but this is taking it to an entire new level. Theatre production company Hotel Pro Formas is behind the [...]

I got a bad news phone call at 6am (feel better, Erik!) and decided to check my email since I was already up. Turns out it wasn't half bad timing, since that's when the Knife decided to release the new song from their Charles Darwin-inspired musical. Tomorrow, In a Year will be available digitally Feb [...]

The world seen through the eyes of Charles Darwin forms the basis for the performance Tomorrow, in a rear . The Danish theater production company, Hotel Pro Forma, and their striking visuals blend with pop-duo The Knife's ground-breaking music to create a new species of electro-opera. An opera singer, a pop singer and an actor perform The Knife's music and represent Darwin, time and nature on stage.
