
Steve Kotler's account of his recovery from Lyme disease through surfing and spirituality, West of Jesus: Surfing, Science and the Origins of Belief , contains a curious account of neuroscientist Jaak Panksepp who playing album after album to a room full of chickens. The fowl were wired to equipment that recorded their "shivers of pleasure." Pink Floyd's The Final Cut album made the chickens shiver the most.
