As you may have gathered from our Twitter feed earlier this week, we were utterly thrilled on Tuesday when we somehow found ourselves taking afternoon tea with Kylie Minogue ! Admittedly there were about 50 other journalists there, but still. The star hosted the event to promote the October 29th release of ' The Abbey Road Sessions ', as well as her and William Baker's stunning new book ' Kylie/Fashion ' (released November 19th - more on that later). As she did with her early '90s single "Finer Feelings" , Kylie Minogue stripped away the lush dance-pop production on her 2000 Light Years offering "On A Night Like This" and reworked it into an orchestral number at Abbey Road Studios to mark her 25th anniversary in the music business . Here the song, which was originally produced by Graham Stack and Mark Rawling of Metro, is given a more cinematic feel, not to mention an added touch of drama thanks to the strings. Why in hell did I set my alarm to awaken me at 7am on a Saturday. There is no need for me to be this AM. Kylie Minogue have just unlocked the second K25 surprise, and it is this stunning version of On a Light Like This, recorded at Abbey Road! I'm already totally obsessed with this version, and hoping they release an album full of these glorious orchestral versions once the series is complete!
