This week saw a serious abundance of straight-up fun, ridiculous videos - four-minute blasts of joy that didn't take themselves the tiniest bit seriously. I'll take that over a bunch of serious art videos that want to push the form forward. Truth be told, I would have discussed Nude Beach a bit sooner if their name was something like Jack and the Snap-Backs or even Jesse and the Rippers and not Nude Beach, a name which conjures up visions of an indie kid with his mac making cutesy, primitive electronic music in his bedroom.  Surprisingly, then, in "Walkin' Down My Street," this Brooklyn trio comes off like a low-rent incarnation of Tom Petty (especially in the vocals), or Thin Lizzy (check the boogie bass), or even The Storkes at times, albeit a version of The Strokes who have chosen the bar [...]

Brooklyn Americana-punk trio Nude Beach released their album II this week on Other Music . In conjunction with the release of the album, they dropped a new video for "Walkin' Down My Street". Their sweet sound influenced by artists such Tom Petty, Elvis Costello, and The Replacements has been burning up my ears since being introduced. Brooklyn's Nude Beach have posted the video for their single, "Walkin' Down My Street." The song comes from II which was released this week . It's the follow up to 2010's Nude Beach [12-inch] from 2010.
