Op 16 september was ik bij een concert van The Temper Trap in De Melkweg in Amsterdam. The Temper Trap is een nog vrij onbekende band in Nederland, maar ik hoop dat daar snel verandering in komt. Ook al was het live optreden beschamend kort (slechts net iets meer dan een uur!), de Australische heren woonachtig in Engeland zetten toch een bijzondere show neer.  Intimiteit, overdreven drama en grootsheid werden verenigd op een manier die slechts weinige bands kunnen evenaren en waar ze zich naar mijn idee nu al kunnen meten met epische rockbands als The Killers, U2 en Coldplay. I've been off from blogging since I got my new DJ controller, Novation Twitch. The gear is just great and I can't stop playing it. In support of The Temper Trap’s self-titled release, out June 5th on Glassnote/Columbia Records, the band has exclusively announced new tour dates with Rolling Stone.com for a North American tour starting June 5th in New York City and ending June 19th in Vancouver. The band is currently playing a handful of sold-out underplay shows in major cities including New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. The Temper Trap are back on the music scene with their sophomore album The Temper Trap , set to release on June 5th via Glassnote/Columbia. The band had this to say about the new album on their website ... The new album was recorded at the famed Sound Factory in Los Angeles, with producer Tony Hoffer, who’s worked with the likes of Beck, M83 & Phoenix. It’s our first album as a five-piece, after we recently welcomed Joseph Greer (keyboard/guitar) to the fold as a permanent member. [...]

Finally! Melbourne based group, The Temper Trap have released the first single from their sophomore self-titled album via youtube . The Temper Trap has been one of my all-time favorite bands to listen to wherever I am and whatever I'm doing. This Australian band's album Conditions was released more or less 2 1/2 years ago and after having their single "Sweet Disposition" featured on (500) Days Of Summer (or as I like to sometimes refer to as 500 Days Of Bummer; you'll get it if you watch the movie), they were launched into the mainstream and almost everyone around me knew who they were, even if they didn't listen to a whole lot of indie rock music. Since we got all giddy back in 2009 and dropped The Temper Trap 's album Conditions ("Sweet Disposition") as our #22 album of 2009 , we've been waiting quietly for this moment. • The Temper Trap - Resurrection (Penguin Prison Remix)

After a bit of a long hiatus, The Temper Trap have returned with a new record annoucement and a new song. “Rabbit Hole” is the official 1st track off of the self-titled album. The track starts with an acoustic guitar, and builds to a dark, loud, and non-happy conclusion. Not sure how I feel about this yet. Really releasing “Sweet Disposition” as their first single might have turned out to possibly kill this band for me. It’s one of the most brialliant songs of all time, yet everything else I have heard from them has been pretty unmemorable [...]
