At a recent performance in Amsterdam with Amsterdam's Metropolitan Opera (which is still streaming here ), Antony and the Johnsons did a beautrful cover of Beyonce's "Crazy in Love," which is above for your perusal. Antony exposes an emotional tenderness that has always been percolating beneath the surface of the bluster of Beyonce's original. Plus this song is way cooler with some oboe. Draped in angelic light and taking advantage of a beautiful orchestra, Antony emotes the hell out of the chart-topper as he's wont to do, and that thunderous applause at the song's end is legitimate and deserved.
