People can't get enough of the user-friendly electronica based instrumentals that Ratatat are best known for. The NYC duo are headed back out on the road for the third leg of the Classics World Tour in support of their latest record. We all know Trent Reznor has gotten all unabomber on us with his wacko diets, his psychotic gym regimine and his weird relationship with Courtney Love, but is he trying to become the Nostradamus of our generation? Is it just me or is music getting softer? It seems like every new band I read about in an email or on a music blog turns out to be a bad knock-off of some other bad folk band. I was going through my enormous music collection when I stumbled across one of my favorite songs by the White Stripes . "The Hardest Button To Button" from Elephant is a simple song by nature, but that catchy vocal melody and that ingenius engineering behind those tones makes this track completely timeless. After hearing it, I remember the Simpsons episode where the White Stripes made a cameo. Badical Beats-worthy indeed.
