Years ago, Sufjan Stevens vowed he would make a new Christmas album every year. The merry indie rocker kept his word and went on to release the first five volumes in one fabulous box set collection called Songs About Christmas . Although Sufjan reportedly has no plans to release his 2008 volume of songs, he has posted all kinds of interactive holiday fun to his web site . This video is sooooo last year, but I love it anyway. It's that time of year again - attack of the "Best Of" lists!!! They're everywhere . I like how animated Sufjan looks stoned, hung over and pissed off. This box set really does cover all aspects of Xmas in one way or another. This Sunday I saw Sufjan Stevens perform a brilliant show at Vega in Copenhagen. I was convinced, that he is one of the most original voices on the music scene today. Deeply inspirational concert. We love this animated clip for "Put The Lights On The Tree", the first single from Sufjan Stevens' upcoming Songs For Christmas box set. But we have to admit that we're a little bit biased, because it was created by animator Tom Eaton , a friend of Idolator who's performed with Stevens, and who's collaborated with Sub Pop singer Rosie Thomas.
