Video: Juliana Hatfield - This Lonely Love

If you have read this blog for any amount of time, you know I have not hidden my affection for talented singer, songwriter and guitarist, Juliana Hatfield. Her album, Become What You Are , remains one of my favorites and, in my opinion, was one of the best albums of the 90s. She recently took part in the Bruce Springsteen's "Hangin' Out On E Street" project with an excellent cover of "Cover Me" and she also just put out a new CD, How To Walk Away. [...]

While writing my brief City Pages review of the pretty wonderful new Juliana Hatfield CD, I compiled a Hatfield-plus-her-bands mix for my friend Steve, leaving out anything from the 2001 Blake Babies reunion album and Hatfield's 2004 would-be commercial...

I love Juliana Hatfield and cannot wait for "How To Walk Away" coming out this Tuesday. "This Lonely love" is on it, and here is the video. Keep making great records and please play bass and sing with the Lemonheads again someday soon! Also, I guess she wrote a memoir that comes out in September. Fuck yeah, count me in!

One of my favorite musicians, Juliana Hatfield , will be releasing her latest album "How To Walk Away" on August 17th. Her last two albums left me a bit cold, but from what I have heard from the newest album, this one bodes well and should be a lot better and more like the bittersweet goodness of past Juliana efforts like "Beautiful Creature". After watching her scowl on album covers and mumble through interviews for the past twenty years, you'd be forgiven for thinking Juliana Hatfield is so profoundly sad ( Mad Men reference, you guys). But I've been reading her online diary, and have learned that she's a regular gal who loves baseball and hates Heidi Montag and doesn't particularly enjoy the company of humans.
