Video: Arctic Monkeys - Crying Lighting - Official Music Video *BRAND NEW*

Above is a brand new music video from Arctic Monkeys for their song "Crying Lighting" that will be featured on the band's third album, Humbug , due out August 25th. The album was partially produced by Queens of the Stone Age lead man Josh Homme at his Joshua Tree studio and supposedly features "songs both heavier and lush than previous albums but still full of the Monkeys usual punch and vitality." Arctic Monkeys have premiered the music video for ' Crying Lightning '. The track is off the band's forthcoming album, Humbug , due out August 25 via Domino . The music video features the band performing the track in a boat on the rough seas. The video was directed by Richard Ayoade .

Arctic Monkeys' new video "Crying Lightning" premiered to an international audience on YouTube last night. The video features the band, now looking like grown-up Harry Potters, sailing on a tiny wooden boat through dark and stormy CGI seas. Rocking out on their instruments, they eventually encounter gigantic aurora borealis apparitions of themselves. The giant version of the band dazzles the regular-sized version with its own performance of the song. Official video for the new, slightly polarizing Arctic Monkeys single, "Crying Lightning." The Josh Homme influence from behind the boards is readily apparent but hardly overwhelming. The stoner-rock look is more jarring than the musical departure. This video is clearly a piss-take joke played straight, except for the rising out of the seat bit. The song's a bit of a grower, as it has many Arctic Monkeys fans drawing a line in the sand between old and new. The song's still growing on me; I like the grungy, stoner rock vibes, but the video takes that aesthetic a little too far with a strange, vaguely mythological journey that doesn't really go anywhere and, apart from a few shots of Helders, doesn't have any of the humour that usually features.
