Since we were introduced to indie band The Neighbourhood , we knew they were destined for something big. Their sound is too good to be ignored, and their latest single continues that. While much is not known about the band right now, we do know that they have a debut EP called I'm Sorry , due to drop this upcoming Monday. But until then, they released another track called "Wires," which is not as catchy as "Sweater Weather" but still a powerful tune worth multiple listens. Fresh? [...]

Indie buzzers The Neighbourhood's latest track just hit the web. It's only the third song we've heard from them to hit the web, but the buzz around the band is nearly tangible already. "Wires" is toned down from the last single, "Sweater Weather." It's more brooding and less catchy, adding diversity but losing out on immediacy. It's not a bad thing. The song begs for a few extra listens and leans less on indie-pop, implementing some boom-bap percussion and tension to their small catalog. Maybe my favorite new band this year, The Neighbourhood premiered their third single "Wires" on Zane Lowe's BBC1 Radio Show yesterday, which Zane quickly marked as his "Hottest Record." Maybe a little darker than their previous two releases, "Wires" reveals a heavier rap influence than " Female Robbery " and " Sweater Weather ."
