I love how sweet and charming this song is. A great tribute to some of the great singing couple/duos - Emmylou Harris & Gram Parsons and June Carter Cash and Johnny Cash. Who would have thought that a Swedish duo would be making some of the best Americana today?

You'd be forgiven if you were to think that Johanna and Klara Söderberg, the sisters that make up Swedish duo First Aid Kit, emerged from a mossy forest strumming a guitar, soaring harmonies in tow. There's a certain organic magic about their music that makes such a myth entirely believable, passed down from forebearers like Emmylou Harris, Gram Parsons, Bob Dylan and Karen Dalton. First Aid Kit are two Swedish sisters, Johanna and Klara Söderberg. They just put out their sophomore album titled The Lion's Roar via Wichita Recordings. 'Emmylou' is the second single off of the album and offers up some outstanding folk driven harmonies that are well worth a listen.

  It's one of life's great pleasures as a music tragic to see talented musicians get the opportunity to ply their trade under their own terms in surroundings that become them. Some musicians below in a different time period. Some below in a different country. Sweden's First Aid Kit (sisters Klara and Johanna Soderberg) sound like they should have been making music in So-Cal's Laurel Canyon in the '70s. Their new album drops next Tuesday (1/24).
