Aðstandendur Iceland Airwaves tilkynntu í dag að draumapoppsveitin Beach House muni troða upp á hátíðinni í ár. Verður þetta að teljast mikið fagnaðarefni fyrir íslenska tónlistarunnendur og hvalreki mikill. Auk Beach House var staðfest að Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs , Honningbarna og Matthew Hemerlein hafi verið bætt í föngulegan hóp erlendra listamanna sem koma munu fram á hátíðinni. Einnig var tilkynnt um að fjölgað hefði í hóp íslenskra listamanna sem staðfest hafa komu sína og munu Kira Kira , Retro Stefson , Friðrik Dór [...]

Yes... some new Fleet Foxes has made its way onto the internet. The song is titled "Helplessness Blues" and it gives us a fresh dose of that classic Fleet Foxes sound. It's a cut off of their upcoming second album of the same name.

2010 was a year of great music and I know I came across the band Beach House hundreds of times all over the Internet. The indie rock band from Maryland has made it on so many music blog lists for top artist and top album of 2010. Not everyone knows however, that they have been making music since 2004. So many established artists releasing stellar follow up albums this year! You'll notice, perhaps compared to last year's list, that almost all of the music here is by established artists. It's always more interesting to see some new entries (last year's Miike Snow stood out quite favourably as my number 1 and of course, The xx was everyone's pick!), but there are some in this year's list (see Beach House, Groove Armada, Kelis, Robyn) who would not have made a top ten list of mine previously. We just can't get this song out of our heads and even if this might not be the official video for the song from Beach House's Teen Dream , we can't spare not sharing it with everyone. We have never seen such an arrangement, at first it might sound too experimental, but that is only because this sonic presentation has never been heard before. Beach House have been around for a few years now and released some well-received albums, regularly hitting people's end of year best-of lists, if not achieving mainstream success.
