I just got back from two weeks in the UK, and I didn't go a day without hearing the name Ellie Goulding. There has been a whirlwind of hype across the pond, which recently propelled Goulding's debut album "Lights" to number 1 on the UK charts. Her songs feature a heavily electronic influenced sound, which is the result of her collaborations with Frankmusik, and his protegé Starsmith. It seems like this brand of indie/electro/synthpop hybrid songstresses is here to stay, whether we like it or not.
