I don't really need a reason to post live Radiohead videos but in the interest of keeping things "newsworthy" the following clip, taken from the tail end of Radiohead's Reading set earlier this week, finds Thom Yorke pilfering Karen O's "Maps" vocal refrain before segueing into Kid A opener "Everything In It's Right Place". Tenuous I know, but just look at Jonny Greenwood freaking out on the Kaoss Pad! If that doesn't justify a bait and switch I'll eat a bag of crazy pills.

by luli A few other blogs have posted this, but it's a musical convergence worth noting. In a strange twist and momentary cover, Thom Yorke includes Yeah Yeah Yeahs lyrics in his intro for "Everything In Its Right Place" at a show in Reading over this past weekend.

At Ease just posted a video of Radiohead performing "Everything in Its Right Place" with an intro tease of "Maps" by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Thom sings a bit of the chorus before the song starts, which is then later sampled by Johnny throughout "EIIRP." Nice choice, guys.

With every performance of the Kid A opener you can hear Thom Yorke singing the intro of a the actual song, but also other Radiohead songs and every now and then somebody else's song, which is recorded on the spot by Jonny Greenwood and then sampled throughout the song. This time the intro was a Yeah Yeah Yeahs cover; 'Maps' from atease Everything that I like: Music, UCLA, NBA, Lost, Los Angeles, whatever I like

This video comes from this past weekend, when Radiohead headlined Reading Festival. They closed this set with Kid A opener "Everything In Its Right Place," but not before Thom Yorke teased the Reading crowd with the refrain from Yeah Yeah Yeahs' "Maps." Too bad Yorke didn't put on a headdress and try to deepthroat his microphone, that could've been good too. [ Consequence of Sound ]
